Finland signed Marrakesh Treaty on 20 June 2014. The treaty advances access to books and pictures for the blind, visually impaired and print-disabled people. The treaty is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva.
Ambassador Päivi Kairamo, authorized by the President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, signed the treaty at WIPO in Geneva with the presence of Secretary General of WIPO, Francis Gurry. Norway signed the treaty at the same time.
