
Russia became a member of the World Trade Organisation, WTO, in August. What will be the concrete implications of the accession to enterprises in Finland, in other EU countries and in Russia? What kind of a WTO member will Russia become? How will EU-Russia bilateral trade and economic relations develop after Russia's WTO accession? What are the expectations of the private sector and what will be the most significant questions in Russian trade?
These and many other questions will be discussed and answered in a high-level seminar organised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Confederation of Finnish industries: ”EU – Russia Trade and Economic Relations: WTO Accession and Beyond” on Friday 7 September 2012.
The seminar will be hosted by Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb. Other speakers include Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht and Maksim Medvedkov of Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the main negotiator of Russia's WTO accession. The panel includes top representatives of industries and civil service from Russia, the Commission, Finland and other EU countries.
