Finland condemns North Korea’s nuclear test

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja strongly condemns the nuclear test conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on 12 February. Finland fully agrees with the declaration by the High Representative, Catherine Ashton on behalf of the European Union on the matter given on 12 February. North Korea’s nuclear test is an outright violation of its international obligations, in particular under UN Security Council Resolutions 1718, 1874 and 2087 and the IAEA’s Safeguards Agreement.
