Minister Stubb to attend the Meeting of the Nordic Ministers for Cooperation in Visby

Minister for Nordic Cooperation Alexander Stubb will participate in the Meeting of the Nordic Ministers for Cooperation in Visby, Gotland of Sweden, on 2 July.

The ministers will discuss the 2014 budget of the Nordic Council of Ministers on the basis of the Secretary General’s presentation, and have a preliminary debate about the overall spending limits for 2015–2016.

The ministers are also expected to adopt the new guidelines for the Council of Ministers neighbouring area cooperation with both the Baltic Countries and Northwest Russia.

In addition, the Ministers will discuss future organisation of border barrier cooperation and establishment of a Nordic Border Barrier Council.

In the afternoon, the Ministers will participate in a panel discussion on future Nordic cooperation held by the Swedish Institute of International Affairs. Swedish title of the panel discussion is “Nordiskt samarbete – Fokus för framtiden”.
